1. Overview


Writer ("the App") is a reductive interface investigation developed by Shashwath Santosh and Nithin Eluvathingal. We respect your privacy and believe that your writing belongs solely to you.

This Privacy Policy explains how we handle your data. In short: We do not collect, store, or transmit your data.

2. Data Collection and Usage

No Personal Data Collection

The App does not collect, transmit, or share any personal information, location data, or usage analytics with the developers or any third parties. We do not have user accounts, and we do not track your identity.

Content Storage

All notes, documents, and content created within the App are stored locally on your device in the Application Sandbox. The developers have no access to your writing.

No Third-Party Analytics

The App does not contain any third-party tracking SDKs (Software Development Kits) or analytics tools. We do not track how you use the App.

3. Data Retention


Because your data is stored locally on your device:
  • We do not maintain a copy of your data on any server.
  • If you delete the App, your local data (notes) will be deleted from the device (unless you have manually backed them up or exported them).
  • Data management is entirely under your control.

4. System Permissions & Features

Apple iCloud Backups

While we do not operate servers, if you have iCloud Backup enabled on your iOS device, your device (including data inside this App) may be backed up to Apple’s iCloud servers according to your personal Apple ID settings. This is handled entirely by iOS and is subject to Apple’s Privacy Policy.

Share Sheet & Export

The App includes a feature to share/export notes. When you choose to share a note, the file is passed to the standard iOS Share Sheet. The data is only shared with the specific app or contact you select at that moment.

5. Children’s Privacy


The App does not knowingly collect, use, or disclose information from children. As the App functions entirely offline and collects no data, it is safe for users of all ages.

6. Changes to This Policy


We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. Since the App collects no data, significant changes to our data practices are unlikely. However, any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated "Effective Date."
